You smirk,

at my caged urge to

collapse and snap,

digging, clawing, peeling.

I rise and I fall—

I send you out,

And you come back in,

with no fail,

and to no avail—

I frown,

You smile.

I tighten,

You loosen.

I pull,

You push.

I burn,

You celebrate.

An everlasting end

to a cycling beginning.
